The Chicago Sky snapped a lengthy losing streak with a win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday night, and the two teams will face off again on Friday in Chicago.
Los Angeles' offense has been struggling with the loss of Lexie Brown (illness) – the team's third-leading scorer.
The Sparks put up just 63 points in the loss, moving them to 10th in the WNBA in offensive rating this season.
Chicago is still without Rebekah Gardner, but the Sky are looking to protect home court where they are 3-4 so far this season.
Let's break down the odds and a best bet for Friday's rematch:
Sparks vs. Sky odds, spread and total
Sparks vs. Sky prediction and pick
Full disclosure, I was on the Sparks on Wednesday, but after they burned me I'm going to look elsewhere for Friday's best bet. Los Angeles has been shaky on the road (2-4) this season, making it a tough bet with Brown out.
So, I'm eying the UNDER on Friday night considering the offensive struggles of these two teams this season.
I mentioned that Los Angeles dropped to 10th in the WNBA in offensive rating, but the Sky rank dead last after the Phoenix Mercury passed them in their win on Thursday night.
It makes sense since Chicago ranks 10th in the league pace and 10th in turnovers per game this season.
The Sky are one of the better shooting teams in the league, but things may not be as easy to come by against a Los Angeles team that is fourth in the league in defensive rating.
Both teams are 9-6 on UNDERs this season, so I don't mind betting on a lower-scoring matchup on Friday – especially since Wednesday's matchup saw just 143 combined points.
