Top 90: The best players in the Premier League - 30-21 ranked

It's fairly common knowledge at this point that the Premier League is, by quite a distance, the best league in the world.

The league is home to the European champions, teams who can spend a combined £1.5bn on new players this summer, the best manager possibly of all time (Pep Guardiola), and - perhaps most importantly - the best footballers in the world.

Ahead of the 2023/24 season we at 90min thought we'd have a crack at predicting who the top 90 players will be in the Premier League next season.

Here's the rankings from 30-21:

CHECK OUT 90MIN'S PREMIER LEAGUE TOP 90

30. Luis Diaz

Club: Liverpool
Position: Wide forward

Injured for the majority of last season, Luis Diaz is now back to full fitness and, judging by his pre-season performances, is heading into the 2023/24 campaign in top form.

There's plenty of competition for places in Liverpool's front three, but we'd be surprised if Diaz isn't a regular for Klopp moving forward.

29. Christopher Nkunku

Club: Chelsea
Position: Forward

Christopher Nkunku's injury and subsequent surgery was a bit of a heartbreaker for Chelsea fans due to the stunning form he was showing in pre-season.

Although out for an extended period, when the French forward does return he'll undoubtedly impress under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

28. Lisandro Martinez

Club: Manchester United
Position: Defender

A firm favourite at Old Trafford thanks to his tenacious attitude on the pitch, Lisandro Martinez has been one of the better defenders in the Premier League since he joined Manchester United last summer.

He'll continue to be crucial for Erik ten Hag's side in 2023/24.

27. Enzo Fernandez

Club: Chelsea
Position: Midfielder

Chelsea's record signing hasn't exactly impressed since arriving at Stamford Bridge in January, but given the situation at the club that's not exactly his fault either.

Now with fellow Argentine Pochettino in charge, Enzo Fernandez is expected to take his game to the next level and we expect him to do exactly that.

26. Gabriel Jesus

Club: Arsenal
Position: Forward

Judging by Kai Havertz's performance in the Community Shield as a false nine, it's fair to say that Gabriel Jesus may be one of the Arsenal's most important players during the upcoming season.

The forward is the perfect forward for Mikel Arteta's system and, when back to full fitness, will bang the goals in for the Gunners.

25. Bruno Guimaraes

Club: Newcastle United
Position: Midfielder

Bruno Guimaraes is a midfielder who would start for every single team in the Premier League.

That's how good he is.

24. Raphael Varane

Club: Manchester United
Position: Defender

Injuries will always be a concern, but when fit there's very few centre backs that are better than Raphael Varane in world football.

Manchester United are a much, much better team when he's in the lineup.

23. John Stones

Club: Manchester City
Position: Defender

Calling John Stones a top 25 Premier League player would've got you arrested a few years ago.

Now, however, with some albeit muted calls for him to win the Ballon d'Or doing the rounds of Twitter, you'd be remiss to think he wasn't one of the best in the division.

22. Bernardo Silva

Club: Manchester City
Position: Wide forward

Although heavily linked with a move away from Manchester City all summer, Bernardo Silva looks more and more likely to stay at the Etihad Stadium with each passing day.

And with Riyad Mahrez now out of the picture following his move to the Saudi Pro League, Silva will be crucial for Pep Guardiola's side in their hunt for a fourth consecutive Premier League title.

21. Trent Alexander-Arnold

Club: Liverpool
Position: Defender

It's fair to say that Trent Alexander-Arnold is Liverpool's make-or-break player heading into the 2023/24 Premier League season.

If he can play the inverted full-back role without leaving the Reds incredibly short defensively then his team could challenge of the league title. If not, they may struggle to finish in the top four.

Yeah, the pressure really is all on Alexander-Arnold.
