The Premier League's finest goalkeepers were once again at their brilliant best in September.

Throughout the month, the men between the sticks made wonderful save, after wonderful save, after wonderful save.

Here's the six saves that have made the September Castrol Save of the Month shortlist:

1. Jordan Pickford (vs Sheffield United)

On 2nd September, Jordan Pickford may have made the most important save he'll make all season.

With Everton locked level at 2-2 with Sheffield United, in the 98th minute of the game Pickford pulled off some heroics by pushing a thunderous Oli McBurnie header onto the crossbar before then having the wherewithal to reach up a hand to block the striker's subsequent follow-up effort on goal.

2. Guglielmo Vicario (vs Burnley)

It's fair to say that Guglielmo Vicario has been one of the best signings of the season thus far, making a number of stunning saves for a very impressive Tottenham outfit.

One of his best in a Lilywhites shirt thus far came in the thumping 5-2 win over Burnley at the start of September, with the new number one reacting quickly to reach up and tip a deflected Lyle Foster strike clear of danger.

3. Ederson (vs West Ham United)

The Brazilian goalkeeper was at his best at London Stadium in September, diving quickly to his left to prevent a brilliant Kurt Zouma header from crossing the line in an eventual 3-1 win for Manchester City.

4. David Raya (vs Tottenham Hotspur)

Arsenal's summer loan signing has been fantastic since making his debut a few weeks ago.

His most memorable moment yet at Arsenal came in the north London derby. The Spaniard, rather unbelievably, was able to race across his goal to prevent Brennan Johnson scoring a certain goal.

5. Robert Sanchez (vs Aston Villa)

There's a strong case for Robert Sanchez being Chelsea's player of the season so far.

The goalkeeper made a fantastic save in the game against Aston Villa in September, reacting quickly to punch a venomous Nicolo Zaniolo volley over the bar from point-blank range.

6. Alisson Becker (vs Tottenham Hotspur)

August's Castrol Save of the Month winner has gotten another nomination thanks to one of his eight saves against Tottenham.

The one that earned a nomination was a second-half save to deny Heung-min Son a goal. The South Korean saw a volleyed effort tipped over the bar by the in-form Alisson.
