Arsenal vs Aston Villa LIVE: Women's Super League latest score, goals and updates from fixture
Follow The Independent's live coverage of all the action in the FA Women’s Super League today. The WSL is the top tier of English women’s football with international players from all over the world plying their trade in one of the most competitive and entertaining leagues around. Chelsea have won three of the past four titles and Emma Hayes’ side will be right in the hunt again, with the likes of Arsenal - champions in 2018-19 – and Manchester City, who have been runners-up for each of the past four seasons, among their competitors. With the top three sides qualifying for the UEFA Women’s Champions League, all 12 WSL teams have plenty to play for, although some clubs’ main ambition will simply be to avoid the drop. The side who finish bottom will be relegated to the FA Women’s Championship – a fate that befell Bristol City in 2020-21 – and newly-promoted Leicester City, competing in the top flight of the women’s game for the first time, will be eager to avoid an immediate return. We will bring you all the action and updates from today's game in the live blog below:

Roy Hodgson looking to end his latest stint as Crystal Palace boss on a high
Roy Hodgson has asked his Crystal Palace players to ensure he goes out on a high if Sunday’s Premier League finale against Nottingham Forest proves to be his last game in charge. The 75-year-old has said he is assuming Sunday’s match will be his last, having signed a contract to the end of the season when he returned to his boyhood club following the sacking of Patrick Vieira in March. His impressive record – 17 points from nine games – has led to speculation that Steve Parish may ask Hodgson to stay on and the former England boss said he would keep his options open – but for now he is treating this weekend as his last in charge. “We have got satisfaction as a coaching staff from the way the team has played,” Hodgson said. “We have got satisfaction from the way the team has worked both on and off the training field and in matches, and as a result it leaves a very warm glow going into the last game. “When I think back to the time we had, it also makes me a little bit nervous. It is the final game of the season in front of the home crowd, playing against a team below us in the table. “I would like the boys to do well on Sunday and finish off in the best way possible and not finish on a bit of a damp squib.” Hodgson has steered Palace comfortably clear of the relegation battle as they go into the final round of fixtures in 11th place. And Hodgson said that was down to the commitment of the players and his backroom staff during the last two months. “I will look back on this time working here with this group of players with a lot of satisfaction in the end, and what it has done is it has given us a lot of good moments in games when we have played well and got reward for playing well,” he said. “That’s the thing you are always concerned about as a coach. Can you get the team playing well and doing the right things, defending as you want to defend and attacking as you want the team to attack, but then to get any rewards from it you have to win? “The good attacking movement has to finish with a goal, not a shot which hits the crossbar or is saved by the goalkeeper or goes behind, because they get forgotten. “The move will only be discussed or analysed or dissected by the pundits at the end of the game if the ball has gone in the back of the net.” Read More Charity boss speaks out over ‘traumatic’ encounter with royal aide Ukraine war’s heaviest fight rages in east - follow live Fashion Sakala bags brace as Rangers sign off with victory at St Mirren Alex Hartley: Taking indefinite break from cricket was ‘hardest decision’ ever Aston Villa’s final step in European bid will be hardest – Unai Emery

Luton vs Coventry LIVE: Championship play-off final team news and latest updates from Wembley
Luton Town play Coventry City in the Championship play-off final at Wembley for a place in the Premier League. Both clubs were in League Two as recently as 2018 and are looking to complete remarkable journeys with promotion to the top-flight, in what is often known as football’s “richest game”. Luton were a non-league club just nine years ago but their incredible rise through the divisions means they are just 90 minutes away from hosting the likes of Man City, Arsenal and Manchester United at Kenilworth Road next season. But Coventry’s story is just as compelling - under Mark Robins they have battled back from the brink and are now on the verge of returning to the Premier League for the first time since 2001. Only one team can make it on what is set to be a thrilling afternoon at Wembley. Follow live updates as Luton face Coventry in the Championship play-off final. Is Reading vs Chelsea on TV? How to watch Women’s Super League title decider
Chelsea can wrap up a fourth consecutive Women’s Super League title this afternoon as they travel to relegation-threatened Reading on the final day of the season. The Blues have a two-point lead over Manchester United in the table, with a goal difference better by five, as Emma Hayes’s side look to complete the WSL and FA Cup double. Reading vs Chelsea LIVE: Latest WSL updates from final day United are away at Liverpool and must hope Reading pull off an unlikely victory. The Royals need to win to have any chance of survival, and begin the day two points adrift of Leicester. Chelsea have won their last six WSL games - including last weekend’s key victory against Arsenal - while Reading have lost their last five. Here’s everything you need to know. Is Reading vs Chelsea on TV? The WSL title-decider will be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event. The match will kick-off at 2:30pm BST on Saturday 27 May. Is Liverpool vs Manchester United on TV? The other match in the title race will be shown on BBC One, with the same kick-off time of 2:30pm. What is the team news? Deanne Rose could start in a timely fitness boost for Reading, but goalkeeper Jackie Burns remains unavailable. Chelsea are expected to be unchanged, which means Magdalena Eriksson and Pernille Harder will play for the club for the final time. Fran Kirby and Millie Bright remain out. Predicted line-ups Reading: Moloney; Mayi Kith, Cooper, Evans, Mukandi; Eikeland, Moore, Vanhaevermaet, Harries; Troelsgaard, Wellings Chelsea: Berger; Perisset, Mjelde, Eriksson, Charles; Cuthbert, Ingle; James, Harder, Reiten, Kerr What have the managers said? Emma Hayes: “This is just business as usual for us. The preparation is what we’d prepared for at the very beginning of the season. It’s not like we’ve won leagues comfortably in the past – so nothing is different from our perspective. We’ve always known from previous experience it goes to the last game.” Kelly Chambers: “If you just give up now or don’t believe then, for me, what’s the point of stepping out there on Saturday? There’s still a glimmer of hope there for us and we just have to give everything we can. If we are beaten by the better team, I can accept that – what I can’t accept is that we don’t turn up and fight for everything.” Read More ‘Business as usual’ as Chelsea look to wrap up Women’s Super League title Chelsea the title favourites as Leicester look to survive – WSL talking points Departing Magdalena Eriksson and era-crowning win show why WSL title heading back to Chelsea Liverpool vs Manchester United LIVE: Latest Women's Super League updates Reading vs Chelsea LIVE: Latest Women's Super League updates Manchester United hit Mason Mount obstacle as Chelsea name price
