Gianluigi Buffon has retired from football at the age of 45. The legendary goalkeeper reached exceptional milestones for club and country over the course of an incredible 28-year career. Young England fans have been reacting to the team’s World Cup win against China on Tuesday, 1 August. In the video, young fans are asked how they feel about the team’s 6-1 victory in their latest World Cup match. “I’m very happy for them. I think it’s good we scored lots of goals,” said one young fan. Another one said: “The match was excellent. Lauren James was definitely really great”. Luke Shaw believes Mason Mount is “exactly the kind of player” that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag “wants and needs” at the club. The England midfielder joined back at the beginning of July and has featured in pre-season fixtures. He is seen as a signing that has strengthened United’s midfield unit, with Mount set to compete with Christian Eriksen for a starting spot next season. “After working with the manager for the last season, I think Mason is exactly the kind of player he wants and needs around this place,” Shaw said.

Sarina Wiegman has revealed that she is willing to “make changes” as the Lionesses prepare to face Denmark at the Women’s World Cup on Friday, 28 July. Declan Rice has said he “feels so happy” to be at Arsenal, as he settles into Mikel Arteta’s squad. The England midfielder has also insisted he will take his £105 million price tag in his stride, having joined from London rivals West Ham earlier this month. “So far I’ve only been here 10 days... but I feel so happy here, I feel at home,” Rice said. “I don’t feel like the new person at all. Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney met with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag ahead of their pre-season friendly in in San Diego, California, on Tuesday. The pair were seen having a conversation and laughing before McElhenney shook Ten Hag’s hand and wished him good luck for the match. It was his Wrexham side that were victorious, beating their Premier League opposition 3-1 thanks to goals from Elliot Lee, Aaron Hayden and Sam Dalby. The Welsh side will play in League Two next season, after a 15-year EFL absence.
