West Ham players sing NSFW song about Jarrod Bowen and Dani Dyer after final-winning goal
West Ham players sing NSFW song about Jarrod Bowen and Dani Dyer after final-winning goal
West Ham players serenaded Jarrod Bowen with a NSFW chant about his girlfriend Dani Dyer after the footballer sealed victory with a last-minute goal. Bowen’s 90th-minute goal against Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final saw the English side win 2-1, sealing West Ham’s first major trophy in over 40 years. Speaking to West Ham’s website, Bowen described the moment, saying, “It's the best night of my life, for sure”. Amid the chaotic scenes of celebration, players were filmed singing a chant about Bowen and his girlfriend Dyer, who last month gave birth to the couple’s identical twin girls. The crude chant was sung to the tune of the classic Gala track “Freed From Desire”, with the lyrics changed to: “Bowen’s on fire and he’s sh**ging Dani Dyer.” The clip of the chant has gone viral with over a quarter of a million views after being shared on Twitter. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Dyer, a former Love Island star, is also the daughter of Eastenders actor Danny Dyer, who has previously admitted to being “starstruck” when his daughter brought a West Ham player home as a lifelong fan of the club. He has previously mentioned the chant, writing in an Instagram post last year: “@jarrodbowen is on fire….and he’s….cuddling me daughter or something. So proud. What a f**king night. Love to all the West Ham family.” Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, Dyer also said: “There is a chant, which I think is quite sweet... there’s romance to it. When he scores, and he does score a lot, it goes like this, ‘Bowen's on fire and he’s sh**ging Dani Dyer’. “I’ve been over there singing it, jumping around. Is that wrong? I think Dani was a little bit freaked out by it but I said there was something quite sweet about it.” Have your say in our news democracy. Sean Strickland shocks Israel Adesanya and MMA world with title win at UFC 293
Sean Strickland shocks Israel Adesanya and MMA world with title win at UFC 293
Sean Strickland pulled off one of the biggest upsets in UFC history on Saturday, outstriking and outpointing Israel Adesanya to win the middleweight title in Sydney. Few fans or pundits believed that Strickland had a chance to dethrone Adesanya, one of mixed martial arts’ finest strikers, but the challenger combined constant forward movement with solid defence and clinical output at UFC 293. In doing so, the controversial American – who claimed in 2021 that he would like to “kill” an opponent in the ring one day – beat Adesanya 49-46 on all three scorecards. Strickland, 32, dropped the Nigerian-New Zealander late in Round 1 with a picture-perfect right cross, sending Adesanya spinning to the canvas before seeking a finish. Strickland could not quite find the knockout blow, however, as Adesanya, 34, survived to the buzzer. The champion appeared to level the score in Round 2, remaining calm, switching stances and using feints to good effect – as he so often does. The “Last Stylebender” also worked the body of Strickland well, but the challenger would soon get back out in front. The third round saw limited output from both middleweights, until Strickland landed a one-two, left hook and stinging jab late in the frame. Still, the main event was in the balance, with Strickland’s coach Eric Nicksick telling him before the championship rounds: “I don’t want to lose a boring-ass decision.” There was no sign whatsoever of Strickland looking to wrestle, despite many believing that such an approach would be his only chance of success. In fact, the American had a body-lock opportunity in Round 4, when Adesanya overshot a strike, but Strickland let go of his opponent. While Adesanya increased his output in the final round, he was still a step behind Strickland, who continued to press forward and even began to talk to his rival late in the round. When the final buzzer sounded, Nicksick hoisted a tearful Strickland aloft, before the American’s championship victory was confirmed. Adesanya then appeared to pay respect to Strickland, burying the hatchet after a heated build to their fight. Much of Strickland’s post-fight, in-ring interview was censored by TNT Sports. With the result, Adesanya lost the middleweight title for the second time. In November, he suffered a TKO loss to his old kickboxing rival Alex Pereira, but Adesanya regained the belt by knocking out the Brazilian in a rematch in April. Pereira, who also knocked out Strickland last July, helped the American train for Saturday’s main event, which saw Strickland seal a third straight win since his loss to Pereira. Conor Benn fight announced as boxer returns after failed drug tests
Conor Benn fight announced as boxer returns after failed drug tests
Conor Benn will return to the ring this weekend, fighting for the first time since his failed drug tests in 2022. The Briton, 26, will box Rodolfo Orozco in Florida on Saturday, having been licensed by the state’s commission. The fight will take place at 154lbs, on the undercard of Richardson Hitchins vs Jose Zepeda in Orlando. Benn was due to fight compatriot Chris Eubank Jr in October 2022, but the bout collapsed after the revelation that Benn had failed two drug tests in the lead-up. Benn was subsequently stripped of his licence by the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) and charged by UK Anti-Doping (Ukad), though the World Boxing Council cleared the unbeaten welterweight of any intentional wrongdoing. Later, the National Anti-Doping Panel lifted a provisional suspension on Benn, though the BBBofC and Ukad have appealed that move. Orozco, 24, will bring a professional record of 32-3-3 into the bout with Benn, having secured 24 of his wins via knockout. The Mexican has never been stopped. Meanwhile, Benn’s record stands at 21-0 (14 KOs). “I am undefeated in the ring, and in spirit,” Benn said in a Matchroom press release. “A return on Saturday is a step closer to redemption. After that, I’m putting the 147-160lbs divisions on notice. You are looking at a determined man with a deep desire to beat them all. “Warm-ups, I don’t treat them as warm-ups,” he added on Instagram. “I don’t go: ‘Oh, this is going to be an easy fight.’ They turn out to be your hardest ones, because of the mindset [but] I treat every fight as if it’s my world-title fight.” Meanwhile, Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn said: “Conor Benn is back, and I’m looking forward to seeing him pick up where he left off. He’s ready to go straight in for a big fight now, but his trainer Tony Sims will be pleased to get him back sooner against a game opponent in Rodolfo Orozco. “Conor is looking unbelievable in the gym, and I cannot wait to see him back in the ring where he belongs.” Read More Desperation and danger: Joe Joyce revisits risky Zhilei Zhang clash Joyce vs Zhang 2 live stream: How to watch fight online and on TV this weekend Eddie Hearn: ‘Ask someone to name three people in boxing, they’ll say: Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, me’

Real Madrid agree deal to sign England’s Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund
Jude Bellingham is closing in on a move to Real Madrid after the Spanish side struck a deal with Borussia Dortmund worth an initial £88.5million. The 19-year-old moved to Germany from boyhood club Birmingham in 2020 and has long dreamt of moving to the LaLiga giants. England star Bellingham is now on the cusp of completing his move to Madrid. Dortmund confirmed in a statement that the Spanish side have agreed to pay 103m euros (£88.5m), with an additional amount of around 30 per cent of that fixed fee agreed.
