Son Heung-min has described his relationship with Ange Postecoglou, revealing the new Tottenham manager has won the squad over with his down-to-earth manner.
Postecoglou and Spurs have proved to be a good fit so far, taking 26 points from their first ten Premier League games of the season before disappointing losses to Chelsea and Wolves. The Greek-Australian became the first head coach to win the league's Manager of the Month award for the first three months of a single season.
With Harry Kane gone and Hugo Lloris out of the first-team picture, Son was made Tottenham captain before the start of the 2023/24 campaign and has scored eight league goals so far, just two shy of his tally for the previous term.
"It's crazy actually the way he [Postecoglou] speaks...the way he talks is fantastic as a human being, as a coach, it's nothing more than that. It's amazing," Son told Men in Blazers.
"I'm 31 years old, I learned many things before and I felt as a human I felt that I had enough, but then since he arrived I feel like 'wow! I'm still a child'.
"The way he speaks, I feel like my heart is bouncing. I just want to go out and play for him and play for the club. It feels like he's just part of my family."
Spurs' squad depth has been tested by suspensions and injuries in their last two games, leading to defeats to Chelsea and Wolves. However, Son says his side still have new heights to hit despite their best ever start to a Premier League campaign.
"I think you still haven't seen our best," he added. "We don't want to be the best, we want to be special. To be special you have to work hard and be a competitor. You can always dream for yourself, but we are living in the present, looking day by day, game by game and then we'll see where we are at the end of the season. I don't like to talk about the past or the future.
"There are so many better teams in the Premier League, we have to work harder than them."
