The second round of the NHL postseason has been a chaotic one, with the underdog Florida Panthers continuing its magical run to a 3-0 series lead against the Toronto Maple Leafs, who entered this round as the favorite to win the Stanley Cup.
The Panthers had to beat Presidents' Trophy winners Boston Bruins in Game 7 on the road after falling behind 3-1 in the series, and have not looked back, taking all three from the Leafs, making that six straight wins in the postseason. Now, with other highly competitive series' going on, Florida is the favorite to lift Lord Stanley's Cup.
After entering the postseason with the longest odds on the board to win it all, +5000, the Panthers are now +370 at FanDuel Sportsbook.
However, it's far from a shoe-in that the Panthers are going to go the distance. The Hurricanes are the second choice at +400 and lead the Devils (+750) 2-1 in its second round series while the Vegas Golden Knights sit at +440 as they beat the Oilers (+500) 5-1 in Game 3 on the road Monday night.
It's a wide open NHL postseason, evident with the No. 8 seed being a very likely entrant into the Eastern Conference Finals, and the odds reflect that.
