It's a bit of a lighter slate in the MLB on this Thursday night and that means if we want to find the best value we might need to branch out to different kinds of bets.

Best NRFI pick today
Yesterday, the Astros managed two first inning runs off Josiah Gray, but today I think it'll be a different story with Mackenzie Gore on the mound. It's really up to Gore to cash this NRFI bet because Cristian Javier has a 1.38 ERA in the first inning which is 11th best of all pitchers in baseball.
Javier will cruise through the Nats lineup early in the game and because of that near certainty I like this NRFI bet.
Best YRFI pick today
Yesterday, Andrew McCutchen got the Pirates off to a fast start with a first inning home run and the YRFI cashed for the second straight day in this series. Today, this matchup is a tale of two different pitchers in terms of their first inning success this season.
Marcus Stroman has been phenomenal in the first with a 1.29 ERA which is top 10 in the MLB. On the other side, Johan Oviedo has been very good for the Pirates, after the first is over. In the first inning he has an ERA of 10.38, the second worst in all of baseball. This has been a high scoring series so far and I think that will continue today.
