LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The chief meteorologist for ‘Good Morning America’, Ginger Zee, is out of the studio and on the road for a special series that features food from across the country. The 42-year-old ‘GMA’ host was recently invited to Cleveland to throw out the first pitch at a baseball game between Cleveland Guardians and Philadelphia Phillies. However, the real reason for her presence was to kickstart a food series to find the best snacks in the US.
Zee’s recent coverage of climate change has received a lot of praise as well as heat from her followers. This new food series called the ‘7th Inning Snacks’ will see her report on something other than climate change. Zee will continue to report on weather conditions but for the next couple of days, her focus will be on finding the best snacks in the country.
What is ‘7th Inning Snacks’?
‘7th Inning Snacks’ is a food series started by ‘Good Morning America’ to search for the best snacks at ballparks around the country. Zee kicked off the series in Cleveland after the game between Guardians and Phillies as she picked three dishes available in the stadium — nachos, pizza, and gourmet grilled cheese — and put them on display before viewers. Zee then spoke about the food before she dived in and tasted it for herself. The food series will soon move from Cleveland to other parts of the nation with Zee taking charge at a few destinations. 'GMA' announced the initiative with a tweet that said, “When it comes to food, the @CleGuardians don’t mess around! @ginger_zee sees what’s cooking at Progressive Field for fans to eat in our search for the best ballpark snacks.”
The next stop for ‘7th Inning Snacks’ is in Florida with Zee while the series will also be anchored by Gio Benitez in Minneapolis and Will Reeve in Arlington, Texas, and Denver, Colorado this week. The morning show regularly spotlights cities from around the country to showcase the cultures, cuisines, small businesses, and people that make each city uniquely its own, and with this food series, the show is living up to its promise.
‘That’s a solid assignment’
Zee didn’t miss a beat to share the news of her new assignment, ‘7th Inning Snacks’, with her followers. Right after informing her fans on social media that she will be throwing out the first pitch at the Guardians game, Zee mentioned her upcoming journey. She posted a selfie on Instagram to mark the moment and captioned the post, “Saying @goodmorningamerica from Cleveland as we start our seventh inning snacks series - eating our way through America on the hunt for the best snacks. see you all soon @cleguardians.” An envious fan responded, “Now that’s a solid assignment,” while another said, “Welcome to the best ballpark. The CLE Progressive Field.” A third mentioned, “Jealous! Awesome assignment!” as one also said, “Looking good all that food at Stadium.”
