Today's USMNT rumors include PSV winning the race to sign Ricardo Pepi. AC Milan is interested in Christian Pulisic and Tyler Adams has been linked with Aston Villa.
USMNT rumors: Ricardo Pepi to PSV
It looked like Feyenoord was in pole position to sign Ricardo Pepi from Augsburg. However, PSV Eindhoven now appears to be the favorite to sign the American.
According to Fabrizio Romano, "Pepi is closing in to join PSV Eindhoven. The price has been set and Augsburg knows the wish of the player. Direct talks to take place in the next days with Augsburg in order to get the deal done."
Pepi spent last season on loan at FC Groningen and wishes to continue in the Eredivisie. It could be seen as a safe option for the player to continue in Holland instead of testing himself in one of Europe's top five leagues.
Folarin Balogun is likely to start ahead of Pepi for the USMNT but Pepi has welcomed the challenge. At a U.S. Soccer press conference the forward said "He's going to make me better, I'm going to make him better. He's a player who had a good season. I'm a player who had a good season. We both want the starting spot."
USMNT rumors: Christian Pulisic to AC Milan
The Athletic has reported that Newcastle United are now out of the running to sign Christian Pulisic. This could pave the way for the player to leave the Premier League and possibly head to Italy.
AC Milan has been linked with Pulisic recently and Daniele Longo has confirmed these rumors. The Italian journalist tweeted "Pulisic to Milan, an idea that starts from afar (January) and is now a real track: the problem is the 5 million euro signing request. But it will be talked about these days."
Pulisic needs to find a team where he can play regularly. After only making cameo appearances off the bench recently for Chelsea, the player can look forward to the USMNT's fixture against Mexico in the Nations League next week.
USMNT rumors: Tyler Adams to Aston Villa
Tyler Adams has been linked with a lot of Premier League teams following Leeds United's relegation to the Championship. Adams is too good for English soccer's second tier and must find a way to escape from Elland Road.
Ekrem Konur has revealed that "Aston Villa has checked on the status of Tyler Adams." A move to Unai Emery's side could be a smart move for the player. They are a team that is on the up and will be playing in the Europa Conference League next season.
Adams has also been linked with Nottingham Forest but if he joins them then he will likely be in for another season fighting relegation. Newcastle United are also interested and they can offer Champions League soccer. However, he may not always start for the Magpies as they have Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock in their midfield.
