Today's USMNT rumors include Tyler Adams to Newcastle, Johnny Cardoso to Napoli and Brian Schwake to Brighton.
USMNT rumors: Tyler Adams to Newcastle
The USMNT contingent at Leeds United will now be looking to get out of the club following their drop down to the Championship. Weston McKennie has already gone back to Juventus and Brenden Aaronson has a relegation clause which will help him leave the club. As for Tyler Adams, there are a number of teams interested in signing the midfielder.
According to 9Omin, "The 24-year-old is believed to be an option for Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham, while he is also being tracked by clubs in Germany, Italy and Spain."
Adams was one of very few Leeds players that boosted their reputation this season. The Elland Road side will demand a lot of money for their star man.
Moving to Newcastle would be fantastic as they are a club which is on the up and can offer Champions League soccer. Transferring to Manchester United will not be a popular one given the rivalry between them and Leeds.
Liverpool would be a good fit as Jurgen Klopp looks to revamp his ageing midfield. The Reds are also in the Europa League next season which is a plus. Tottenham Hotspur cannot offer European soccer and we still do not know who their next manager will be. However, Adams would definitely take a move to any Premier League side ahead of spending next season in the Championship.
USMNT rumors: Johnny Cardoso to Napoli
Johnny Cardoso looks set to move to Europe from Brazil where he is playing his club soccer with Internacional. The Brazilian website ge has reported that Napoli, Sporting Lisbon, Galatasaray, Real Betis and Brighton are all interested in the USMNT midfielder.
It appeared that Johnny was set for a move to Spain as his agents were seen at a Betis game. However, it now looks like the player might have a difficult decision to make as to what his next move will be.
A move to Brighton might be his best option as they have a track record of developing players who have come from South America. Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo are two of their best players who will likely leave this summer. Roberto De Zerbi will need replacements in his midfield, especially as they will be embarking on a European campaign next season.
USMNT rumors: Brian Schwake to Brighton
Brian Schwake may not be a name familiar to many USMNT fans but the American goalkeeper could be set for a move to the Premier League.
According to The Daily Mail, "Brighton is in talks to sign Livingston's American goalkeeper Brian Schwake. The 21-year-old has been in at Brighton this week training so that the Premier League side's coaching staff could take a closer look at what he can do.
"Schwake, though born in Mount Prospect, Illinois, qualifies for a European passport owing to his family hailing from Luxembourg."
After playing college soccer for DePaul Blue Demons, Schwake joined Livingston. He has since spent the last three years on loan at Linlithgow Rose, Edinburgh and Greenock Morton. The player is yet to represent the USA at any level but a move to the Seagulls will definitely attract the attention of U.S. Soccer.
