United States Men's National Team interim head coach BJ Callaghan announced the 23-player roster headed to the Concacaf Gold Cup tournament from June 16 to July 16, where the Stars and Stripes will look to defend their 2021 title.

"This is a group that we have a lot of confidence in as we look to win another Gold Cup trophy. It's a roster that has a good mix of veteran players that have World Cup experience and younger players have earned an opportunity to come into camp and represent the United States in the Gold Cup," said Callaghan.

"Many of these players have performed well at their clubs as well as the previous opportunities that they have had in the national team environment. We're trying to expose as many players as possible to tournament competition. Some have a lot of experiences that we continue to build on, while others are just starting out. In all cases it will be valuable for the group moving forward."

The roster has some notable players, such as Club America winger Alejandro Zendejas,
goalkeeper Matt Turner from Arsenal and forward Cade Cowell from the San Jose Earthquakes. Most of the team comprises players from MLS, with a whopping 16 out of 23 individuals currently on the roster playing in the league.

There are also six players other players on the roster who were part of the squad that played in the 2022 FIFA World Cup: Inter Miami full-back DeAndre Yedlin, FC Dallas forward Jesus Ferreira, Toronto FC goalkeeper Sean Johnson, Seattle Sounders midfielder Cristian Roldan, LAFC defender Aaron Long, and Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris.

Most USMNT players based in Europe will not feature in the upcoming Concacaf tournament as Christian Pulisic, newly committed Folarin Balogun, Weston McKennie and Brendan Aaronson are ommitted from the roster. Americans playing abroad are to rejoin their respective teams for preseason.
