Travelers Championship picks and best bets at TPC River Highlands this week as we have an outright, Top 10 and more PGA Tour expert picks for golf.
Once again, the PGA Tour is following up a major championship with a designated event, the 2023 Travelers Championship. We're heading to TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CT this week, which is quite the travel for US Open winner Wyndham Clark and the rest of the field who just got put to the test in Los Angeles this past week.
For our PGA Tour expert picks and best bets, we were so close to having a great week, even without an outright winner really coming close. Xander Schauffele Top 10, Denny McCarthy Top 20, and Eric Cole Top 40 all hit, but with dead heat rules applying. We did hit Rory McIlroy for a Top 5, though, which ultimately helped to truly salvage the week with a +0.75 units in return.
But now we're onto our Travelers Championship picks with an emphasis on good driving, always on ball striking and a little look at the ability to get hot with the putter. TPC River Highlands also has sticky course history, so that's worth looking into as well. So with that, let's make our Travelers Championship picks with PGA Tour expert picks for Top 10, winner and One and Done before sprinkling in a few more best bets.

Golf betting record in 2023 through US Open: 37-96-2, +4.306 units (2-29 on outrights, 0.5 unit bets, 0.1 unit longshot bets | +0.75 units at US Open)
One-and-Done record in 2023: $7,904,510.65 (Tyrrell Hatton at US Open, $143,295)
PGA Tour expert picks for Travelers Championship: Winner, Top 10, One and Done
Top 10 Pick for the Travelers Championship: Tom Kim (+350)
During the US Open, people might've thought that Tom Kim just got hot for nine holes. That, however, was not the case. In fact, he showed signs that he's been trending toward for a while en route to his T8 finish, coming in as the fourth-best in Strokes Gained: Approach for the week in Los Angeles and gaining with the short game as well. Now heading to a course where his lack of length won't be a disadvantage, I expect him to really pop this week in Cromwell.
Pick to Win the Travelers Championship (0.5 Units): Collin Morikawa (+2500)
For a while, the big issue for Collin Morikawa was that one of the world's elite ball strikers with a shaky-at-times putter wasn't necessarily flushing it in the way we're used to seeing. That's quietly gone away, though. He's second in this field at the Travelers in Strokes Gained: Approach over the last 20 rounds while being one of the most accurate drivers on the PGA Tour. Though he has just a T36 and missed cut at this tournament in his career, he's primed for a breakthrough in 2023 and this is a perfect spot for it.
One and Done Pick for the Travelers Championship: Tom Kim
It'd be great to have Morikawa here but we've already used our One and Done on him this year. Having said that, I'm still confident in Tom Kim to be near the top of the leaderboard for all of the reasons we already mentioned. It's a great fit and the form is there for him to be a good cash in for OAD leagues at this designated event.
Travelers Championship picks and best bets
Hideki Matsuyama to finish Top 20 (+210)
We haven't seen Hideki Matsuyama pop fully since he's seemingly gotten healthy from his early-year neck injury, but it's coming. Matsuyama has gained 1.17 strokes on approach in his last 20 rounds and his around-the-green play has been on point too. More importantly, his driving has also been accurate. Though I considered getting more aggressive with a Top 10, I'm comfortable playing him as a Top 20 at north of +200 odds.
Austin Eckroat to finish Top 20 (+320)
What if I told you that the only finish for Austin Eckroat worse than T16 in his last four starts — a run that includes a T10 at the US Open last week — was a T30 at Memorial? What if I also told you that Eckroat is also gaining strokes in every category except putting, which he's been only slightly worse than neutral with? He's been playing an elite brand of golf and is being too overlooked at these odds for just a Top 20
Chez Reavie to finish Top 40 (+240)
Chez Reavie is one of those players that has the courses that fit his short-hitting game and he tends to play them extremely well consistently. This is one of those spots, but he also comes to the Travelers in solid form, gaining on approach, driving it accurately, and gaining with the putter over his last 20 rounds. Having finished T25 or better, including a win, in three of his last four starts here, I'm loving these odds for only a Top 40.
Longshot pick to win the Travelers Championship (0.1 Units): Harris English (+7000)
While we normally look for longer odds than this, it's still a dark horse play with Harris English, who won at the Travelers in 2021. He's starting to regain some form after some poor showings early in the year as he came back from injury with some solid approach play and a hot putter. If he keeps trending up at a place where he has great history, it's hard to think he shouldn't be better than 70/1 to win, but we'll take a small swing on him at that number.
