K-pop group STAYC pay a visit to Rangers' Ibrox Stadium after Texas top mix-up
K-pop group STAYC declared "We love Rangers" during a visit to the Scottish football club after they sported the side's jersey by mistake when they performed in Dallas, Texas. Last month, the band made headlines when a nod to the city’s beloved baseball team, the Texas Rangers didn't quite go to plan as the six-piece band from South Korea instead wore vintage Rangers FC jerseys from the 1990s. Since donning the footballing strip sported by legends Paul Gascoigne and Ally McCoist back in 1996/7, the mix-up caught the attention of Scottish Premiership followers. This story continued on Monday when STAYC announced a surprise meet-up with fans at Ibrox. The band members Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J were invited by Rangers for a tour around the football stadium where they were given a custom-made Rangers strip with the number 23 and STAYC printed on the back and were introduced to mascot Broxi Bear. (And of course, Broxi got involved with a TikTok dance to STAYC's song "Teddy Bear.") @stayc_official Rangers FC Broxy Bear?와 함께한 #TeddyBear_Challenge #STAYC #스테이씨 #Sieun #시은 #Seeun #세은 #J #재이 K-pop fans in Glasgow flocked to the stadium, outside Edmiston House, to catch a glimpse of the group. From a balcony, the band members waved and made heart signs to fans, and officially confirmed they are Rangers fans. "This is our first time in Scotland and we are so happy right now. Are you guys fans of Rangers too?" one member shouted. While another added: "We love Rangers!" @hnkxchae all because of a rangers jersey mix up at their dallas concert ? oh stayc you are so loved !! #kpop #scotland #glasgow #stayc #fyp #hnxkchae Fans took to the comments section of the STAYC-Rangers-related videos. "Great to see STAYC at Rangers. Welcome back anytime," a fourth person commented. No doubt, fans will be hoping STAYC will return to Scotland when they tour next. Harry Kane is put to the test during 'Hot Ones' appearance - but how did he do?
Harry Kane was the latest guest to appear on First We Feast's Hot Ones challenge and proved he could handle the heat off the pitch. The YouTube show sees host Sean Evans interview celebrity guests. During each question, both he and a guest eat a chicken wing that has been coated in different hot sauces, with the Scoville level (the heat or spiciness) increasing each time. Some of the previous celebrity guests include Jennifer Lawrence, Gordon Ramsay, Florence Pugh, and Noel Gallagher. In the latest episode, host Evans began by asking the England captain how he is around spicy food, to which Kane admitted that he's "not great," adding that "it's not something [he] normally [has] a lot". The first wing had a Scoville level of 1,600 which Kane ate with ease and said it was "not too bad," as Evans asked the footballer about his record-breaking season, scoring over 30 goals and becoming England's all-time leading goal scorer. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Kane described the latter achievement as a "dream come true," before having a slight cough and reaching for a glass of milk - was the spice getting to him already? Harry Kane Takes One For the Team While Eating Spicy Wings | Hot Ones www.youtube.com Next up was a wing with a Scoville level of 6,000 and to Kane's surprise he found this one "a little easier". "I do like a curry back home in England, so I'm quite familiar with that taste," he told Evans, appearing more confident in his ability to handle the spice. For the wings with a Scoville level of 15,500, 36,500, and then 49,000, followed by 71,000 and 103,000, Kane took them in his stride, with some coughs, a runny nose and sips of milk along the way. Then came "Da Bomb," hot sauce at a Scoville level of 135,600 which a nervous Kane commented: "I've heard about this. I've just heard it's brutal. Unenjoyable." Though it didn't stop the Tottenham player from taking a bite, before telling Evans that it was "not nice," and "disgusting," and added that he could have the other sauces he's tried with food, but not with "Da Bomb". Despite the discomfort, Kane continued on to eat wings that had a Scoville level of 641,000 before finally making it to the final wing where he join in the tradition of dabbing an extra bit of sauce on the wing. Going straight for it, the footballer noted how the heat "straight up [his] nose". Footy fans loved seeing Kane on Hot Ones and in the comments praised performance for making it to the end. One person said: "Never in a million years did I think I'd see Harry Kane on this show, but I'm all here for it." "Let's be real he surprised every single one of us after seeing his reaction to the first wing. Respect," another person wrote. Someone else added: "Harry seems so wholesome!! And handled the hot sauces so well for someone who doesn't appear to eat much hot sauce." "One of the best episodes ever! Big bites, no complaints and a good talk," a fourth person commented. Cara Delevingne and Sam Ryder’s contrasting F1 grid interviews divide fans
Two totally different interviews took place on the Formula One grid at Silverstone on Sunday, as Sky presenter and racing legend Martin Brundle looked to speak to actor Cara Delevingne and musician Sam Ryder ahead of the British Grand Prix. Brundle, famed for his grid walk chats on ITV, the BBC and now Sky Sports, was hoping to speak to Delevingne before the race took place, as celebs lucky enough to walk down the prestigious path typically speak to the media. Cutting away from footage of a flyover from the iconic Red Arrows, Brundle can be seen chatting to an official standing next to the Suicide Squad actor who told him the celeb “doesn’t want to talk”. “Everybody needs to talk on the grid. That’s the deal now, everybody talks on the grid,” he replied. Moving towards Delevingne, the broadcaster and former racing driver said: “Can we have a quick chat? Sky F1? Good to see you on the grid.” The model smiled and said no, before leaning in to listen to the male official and saying she “can’t hear anything”. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter She then apologised before issuing a thumbs up to the camera. After Delevingne snubbed his request for a chat, Brundle turned away and muttered sarcastically: “OK, well, I’m sure it would have been extremely interesting.” Ouch. It’s not the first time Brundle has been snubbed by a high-profile name, as bodyguards for rapper Megan Thee Stallion pushed him away as he tried to interview her back in 2021. The awkward encounter has since split the internet, with some describing Delevingne’s response as “rude” while others claimed she had the right to turn down the request for a chat: Yet in a separate clip from the grid, Brundle was given a “man hug” and handshake by Eurovision runner-up and “Space Man” singer Sam Ryder. “So wonderful to meet you. Hello, everyone,” beamed the musician as he waved to the camera. The singer then discussed Homeland actor Damian Lewis singing the national anthem at the event, which he did last year, saying Lewis is “going to smash it” and has “got it covered”. Ryder then proceeded to discuss the racers as they walked down the grid, with the star confirming he was backing McLaren’s team in the race after their “wicked start”. “Anyway, I’m talking your ear off. Take care,” he said, grabbing hold of Brundle once more. This time around, the broadcaster quipped Ryder could “take my job if you wanted to”. The friendly interaction has seen Ryder branded an “absolute legend” on social media, with Twitter users comparing his interaction with Sky Sports to that of Delevingne’s: Delevingne has since responded to the backlash on Twitter and said she was “told to say no [by an F1 representative] so I did”. “Anyway, I had so much fun today and was so happy to be there no matter what anyone else may think,” she added. Referee in viral Mark Zuckerberg jiu-jitsu 'argument' video confirms what happened
Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg surprised people recently after turning up at a jiu-jitsu tournament, with footage appearing to show him looking a little unhappy with the result of his bout. The Meta CEO was spotted taking on a fellow competitor in Redwood City in California on Saturday (May 6), and he was eventually pinned after a tussle in the ring. The referee stopped the fight and awarded it to his opponent after believing that Zuckerberg had 'tapped out'. However, the footage suggested Zuckerberg was unhappy with the result and it was changed to a 0-0 draw. Sign up to our new free Indy100 weekly newsletter He did well during the result of the tournament, with the 38-year-old winning gold and silver medals at his first public competition. Now, the referee from the event has spoken and clarified that there was no such “argument”. Referee Lucas Costa, who is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, spoke to bloodyelbow.com and explained what went down. “There was no argument,” said Costa. “It was in Gi and he got choked out. That was the video you saw. I stopped it and he wanted to check with me about why I stopped it. He didn’t know what was happening, which was one of the reasons I stopped it. But he had started to snore and the rule set says that snoring is a version of a verbal tap.” “I was paying a lot of attention,” Costa added. “I was paying even more attention because it was Mark. He got caught in an Ezekiel and I waited, but he didn’t fight back. And I was waiting, but on the third snore I had to stop the fight. He was very polite but he wanted to know how the rules work.” Speaking about the experience of meeting him, Costa said: “Mark’s fight was a surprise… I was impressed though. “He seemed like a normal guy. Looked me in the eye, gave me a firm handshake and an even bigger surprise was that he fights well.” Discussing his fighting style, Costa added: “He goes forward a lot. He attacks more. With very little defence.” Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.
