The Phoenix Suns have reportedly eyed current Clippers head coach Ty Lue as their number one option to replace Monty Williams.
The Suns have already reached their choice for their now-open head coaching job, according to NBA insider Marc Stein. They are targeting Tyronn Lue.
Lue would be perfect for the Suns because he is able to get offense out of average-depth players. This would be very ideal for Phoenix due to the fact that they need someone who can allow Devin Booker and Kevin Durant to thrive.
Lue does not have the greatest history when it comes to developing players on the roster but it seems like Deandre Ayton is on his way out anyways.
The Clippers seem to be running out of time with their duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. While they might have one more year in them, they don't have as much time as Phoenix has. Durant and Booker have two-to-three years left on their timeline with the only concern being Durant's age's getting older in the long-term.

Another option that the Suns should look at is Nick Nurse. Nurse played a solid rotation for the Raptors during his time coaching the squad.
Phoenix should be able to find enough depth pieces this offseason via trades for Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton. Lue should be able to find the right rotation pieces if given the right resources.
With a duo of Durant and Booker, a solid coach, and reliable depth, the Suns will be championship contenders.
They should be looking at other veteran coaches who can help this team win bench minutes or at least limit this issue as long as they can. If they are able to do that, the Suns will be unstoppable next season.
