It's all very well and good being top of the Premier League or La Liga or the Bundesliga, but the real prize is being top dog across Europe's top five leagues.
See, we don't need a European Super League, we can just make our own.
There are 96 teams in the top five divisions - Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 - and as much as it's nice to be the team with the most points, you sure as hell don't want to be the team at the bottom.
90min has collated all the standings across Europe's big five, bringing you the top and bottom 15 sides in our new league table.
Top 15 across Europe's top five leagues
It's worth noting that different divisions have played a different number of games at this stage in the season. Therefore, in the top 15, extra credit goes to Bundesliga sides who have only played seven matches, while the majority of La Liga teams have played nine times, skewing their standing slightly.
Real Madrid currently sit top of the table, winning eight and losing one of their opening nine matches. Despite having played a game or two more than most other sides, its only German sides Bayer Leverkusen and Stuttgart that could leapfrog Carlo Ancelotti's side with games in hand, or AC Milan if they put six goals past their next opponent.
Stuttgart deserve a considerable mention given their incredible start to the Bundesliga campaign, winning six of their seven games and scoring 22 goals in the process. Leverkusen have been similarly fruitful, remaining unbeaten and netting 23 in seven matches - exactly why Real Madrid are so keen on manager Xabi Alonso.
Another side that deserve a huge amount of credit is Girona in La Liga. While they have played more games than most other teams in the table, they have accumulated 22 points from nine matches, currently sitting above third-placed Barcelona. Girona boss Michel deserves enormous praise for the job he has done at the beginning of the campaign.
Tottenham and Arsenal are the top two Premier League sides, with Spurs ahead of their north London rivals on goals scored. Manchester City and Liverpool are the only other English teams in the top 15, but find themselves lower down the table in 11th and 14th respectively.
Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will be disappointed to be so far down the list, while RB Leipzig have missed out completely. Inter and Milan are the only two Serie A clubs who make the cut, while Monaco have impressively kept Paris Saint-Germain out of the top 15 and are the only Ligue 1 side who appear.
Manchester United, Chelsea and last season's Italian champions Napoli will be frustrated not to be anywhere near the top 15 this season.
Bottom 15 across Europe's top five leagues
Well, it's bad news for Sheffield United fans. They are just one of two teams in Europe's top five leagues that have only mustered a point this season, alongside surprise strugglers Koln. The Blades' 8-0 defeat against Newcastle United has moved them to bottom on goal difference.
Burnley and Luton join their fellow newly-promoted Premier League club in the bottom 15 after a difficult start to the season, while Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth have been similarly woeful and sit in 90th out of 96 teams.
Augsburg, Bochum and Mainz have some excuses given they have played a game fewer, as do French side Clermont Foot, but there can be no sympathy for Almeria. The Spanish side have managed just three points in nine matches and still await their first win.
Serie A also has a number of teams struggling at the moment, Cagliari the worst of the bunch on two points. However, Salernitana, Empoli and Udinese all find themselves in trouble as well, with only Empoli having won a match this season out of all four Italian sides.
The real surprise package though are of course Lyon. The French side won seven league titles in the 2000s, yet are now in crisis, sitting second bottom of the Ligue 1 table. Lyon have already sacked Laurent Blanc after four games, but new appointment Fabio Grosso hasn't fared much better, still awaiting a first victory.
