Sky vs. Dream prediction and odds for WNBA Commissioner's Cup

Two potential contenders for a WNBA title face off in a matchup that will be broadcast on Twitter on Tuesday night.

The Chicago Sky (3-1) are on the road to take on the Atlanta Dream (1-2), who entered this season as a dark horse pick because of some of their young talent, led by last season's No. 1 overall pick Rhyne Howard.

Howard, Allisha Gray and Cheyenne Parker have formed a solid trio in Atlanta, with all three players averaging 17.0 or more points per game this season.

With the Sky losing star Candace Parker, the team is now built around Kahleah Copper and Marina Mabry, who have both gotten out to strong starts in 2023.

Let's break down the latest odds and best bet for this Commissioner's Cup matchup:

Sky vs. Dream odds, spread and total

Sky vs. Dream prediction and pick

The Dream are favored at home in this game, but I have a hard time laying the number in this game.

The Sky rank No. 2 in the WNBA in defensive rating, per HerHoopStats, and they have the No. 3 net rating through three games.

While the Dream have a high-powered offense (No. 3 in offensive rating), the team is allowing 84 points per game, good for eighth in the league.

Atlanta's offense has gotten off to a slow start efficiency wise, shooting under 40.0 percent from the field and just 32.0 percent from 3. While the Dream have a better offensive rating than the Sky, Chicago is actually shooting better from the field and 3 this season.

The Sky are a deeper team in my opinion, with eight different players averaging at least seven points per game. After the Dream's trio of Gray, Howard and Parker, there is a serious drop off in the scoring department.

I'll take the points with Chicago here in this early-season showcase.
