Real Madrid and Brazil forward Rodrygo Goes has admitted he has no idea what the future holds for manager Carlo Ancelotti at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ancelotti finds himself in a public tug of war between Madrid and Brazil. The Italian's contract expires this summer and Brazilian Football Confederation officials have made it perfectly clear that they are chasing an agreement for Ancelotti to take charge in 2024.
Madrid, however, are seeking to end the speculation by offering Ancelotti a new contract and the boss recently confessed he would wait until the final day of his current deal for an extension to be offered before considering a move elsewhere.
Rodrygo, who is one of many Brazilian players to have spoken publicly about their interest in seeing Ancelotti take over the national team, admitted he is being kept in the dark about proceedings.
"I don't know anything, because the coach doesn't talk to us and neither does the president of Brazil," Rodrygo confessed.
Earlier this season, Rodrygo admitted he had been joking with Ancelotti about taking charge of Brazil, claiming "every joke has a bit of truth".
"We joke with him: 'Wow, coach, we're waiting for you there'," Rodrygo said. "He jokes that we'll make the squad list together, the four of us [including fellow Brazilians Eder Militao and Vinicius Junior] in the same room.
"We talk in a joking tone, but every joke has a bit of truth. The situation is difficult because it means he'd have to leave Madrid.
"That way I can't say anything beforehand, but of course it would be an honour to have him here."
