Chris Kavanagh has been confirmed as the referee for Saturday's heavyweight Premier League clash between Manchester City and Liverpool.
After a two-week hiatus because of the final round of international fixtures for 2023, top-flight football returns when City take on Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium in a 12.30pm kick-off.
Kavanagh will referee the game, flanked by assistants Simon Bennett and Dan Robathan, while Stuart Attwell will be under the microscope should any controversial decisions require VAR intervention.
John Brooks has been tasked with officiating Everton's mouthwatering clash with Manchester United at Goodison Park on Sunday - the first time the Toffees will have taken to the field following their ten-point deduction for breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.
The weekend's other big game, involving Newcastle United and an improving Chelsea, will be overseen by Simon Hooper - Brooks is on VAR duty just under 24 hours before he heads to Merseyside to be the on-field official.
The remaining officials for matchweek 13 of the season have also been appointed, with Anthony Taylor, Andy Madley and Michael Salisbury among those to referee games between Saturday and Monday.
