Oklahoma football fans did a victory lap on Friday when five-star running back Taylor Tayum chose the Sooners over Lincoln Riley and USC.
Lincoln Riley is still persona non-grata in Oklahoma, so you better believe the Sooners took extra joy in pinching five-star running back Taylor Tatum out from under USC.
On Friday, the No. 1 back in the class of 2024 announced his commitment to Oklahoma in a major recruiting victory for Brent Venables and his staff over the former Sooners coach.
Tatum, who hails from Longview, TX, was heavily linked to the Trojans earlier this summer.
Along with celebrating the addition of a running back that 247Sports analyst Gabe Brooks described as a "top-tier running back prospect in the 2024 class with classic running back build," Oklahoma fans jumped on Twitter to rub it in Riley's face.

It's clear to see Sooners fans are still pretty angry at Riley for leaving Norman the way he did. Every little victory that can be gained over him and USC is going to be celebrated like a playoff berth.
And landing Taylor is certainly a victory. At 5-foot-10, 205 pounds, he is a five-star in the 247Sports composite rankings, sitting No. 31 nationally. There isn't a higher rated running back in the class. DeMarco Murray and Venables will be eager to utilize him in their ground game next year and beyond.
Meanwhile, Riley and USC will have to turn their attention elsewhere, though they already have a commitment from three-star RB Bryan Jackson out of McKinney and added two four-star rushers in the class of 2023.
With Taylor's commitment, Oklahoma moved up to No. 22 in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings for 2024. USC is No. 6
