The Washington Mystics are fresh off a blowout win at home against the Atlanta Dream, but can they keep that going in Atlanta on Friday?
The Dream (5-8) have lost three straight games, and the team's lack of depth has started to come back to bite it, especially against some of the league's top teams like Washington.
Rhyne Howard, Cheyenne Parker and Allisha Gray are all averaging at least 16.1 points per game, but no other Dream player averages even 7.0 points per game on the season.
Washington (7-3 in its last 10 games) has the No. 1 defensive rating in the WNBA, but can it withstand Atlanta on the road on Friday without Shakira Austin?
Here are the latest odds and my best bet:
Mystics vs. Dream odds, spread and total
Mystics vs. Dream prediction and pick
The Mystics have been a great team to bet the UNDER on this season, but I'm going to stay away from that in this matchup and simply take Washington to win outright.
The Dream play at the fastest pace in the WNBA, but they aren't doing it efficiently right now. The team has dropped to sixth in the league in offensive rating and 10th in defensive rating.
If you're going to push the ball, you have to score it efficiently, especially if you're weak on the defensive end. The Dream haven't been able to do that, and they are extremely reliant on their top three players.
While Washington won't have Austin (11.4 points per game), the team has four other players averaging double-digit points per game this season.
I don't expect Washington to have another 109-point game, but the team dominated Atlanta on Wednesday night.
The Dream have also been terrible at home this season, going just 1-5 straight up in Atlanta.
I'll take the Mystics to win this game outright.
