Luka Modric's agent has revealed that the midfielder is open to a move to the Saudi Pro League if a "suitable offer" is made.

The 38-year-old is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time thanks to his stunning 12-year career with Real Madrid. The Croatian star has won five Champions Leagues during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, and was awarded the Ballon d'Or for his stunning performances for both club and country in 2018 - becoming the eighth Madrid player to ever win the award.

Modric turned down offers from MLS and Saudi Pro League clubs during the summer in favour of signing a new one-year deal with Los Blancos, but having been largely a bit-part player since signing said new contract - making just four La Liga stars so far this season - rumours have began to swirl about a potential move away from the club.

He has refused to dismiss the idea of a move away from Madrid as early as January, having spoken openly and honestly about his frustrations towards his limited role under Carlo Ancelotti.

As expected, the rumour mill has been consistently linking Modric with following fellow Real Madrid legends Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo in signing a mega money deal to play in the Saudi Pro League.

Addressing these rumours in an interview with Shooot, Modric's agent has confirmed that his client would be open to such a move.

"This summer there was interest in Modric [from Saudi Arabia] with the aim of signing him," agent Borja Couce revealed. "The player has several offers, from a club from the capital and another club.

"Modric is currently thinking about Real Madrid, but the idea of him moving to the Saudi Pro League is possible if the offer is suitable."

If recent contracts handed out by Saudi clubs are anything to go by, Modric could be set for a bumper payday if he opts to move to the Middle East. Ex-Madrid teammate Benzema put pen to paper on a three-year deal worth £516m, while Ronaldo is currently earning £177m-a-year to ply his trade at Al Nassr.
