Originally scheduled for 2020, the MLB London Series between those two teams had to be postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. They're finally getting their chance to play across the Atlantic.

The weekend series between the Cubs and Cardinals is being played at London Stadium, the home of West Ham United. It used to be called Olympic Stadium as it was built to host the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

While West Ham are now the primary tenants, the stadium has also hosted fans for a bunch of other sports.
And his isn't the first time a baseball game has been played ther. The Yankees and Red Sox played the 2019 MLB London Series there with crowds of 59,659 and 59,059 for the two games respectively.

MLB has an agreement to continue the MLB London Series beyond 2023 with series planned for 2024 and 2026 as well.
The 2024 MLB London Series will feature the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies next June.
The participants for the 2026 series are still to be determined.
