LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Good Morning America’ chief meteorologist Ginger Zee is an adventure chaser. From reporting on floods, wildfires to storms and diving into the middle of an ocean to spreading awareness about the rising temperatures, Zee never shies away from a challenge. And a similar yet not-so-dangerous challenge came Zee’s way when she was asked to throw the first pitch at a baseball game.
The ‘GMA’ host is currently visiting Cleveland and was recently spotted at the Progressive Field stadium, attending a game between the home team Cleveland Guardians and Philadelphia Phillies. However, she was not a mere spectator but a guest who was requested to throw the first pitch of the game. Zee did it magnificently as the crowd cheered but ended up as the subject of another online troll who mocked her by taking a jab at her latest climate change coverages by commenting, ‘What’s the carbon footprint of that game?’
Troll mocks Ginger Zee’s first pitch
ABC’s Chief Meteorologist Ginger Zee threw the first pitch at the Cleveland Guardians game but the purpose of her visit went beyond that. Zee is expected to remain in town for the Monday broadcast of 'Good Morning America' to cover the ‘Seventh Inning Snacks’ series. Zee has never declared herself a sports fan but was excited to be invited as a guest to make the first pitch. This brought a lot of praise for the ‘GMA’ host who took some time to click a few snaps with her kid and News 5 Cleveland meteorologist Katie McGraw.
Fans showered heaps of praise for Zee’s efforts to land the pitch accurately but an online troll was hiding in the sights, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. This troll called out Zee’s incessant coverage of climate change and mocked her appearance at the game. "What’s the carbon footprint of that game,” the troll reminded Zee as a Zee supporter instantly shut him down with “Shut Up”. It was clear that the troll attacked Zee for bringing her views of climate change everywhere and spreading them as lies when it’s clear that the troll has no basis for this argument.
Ginger Zee seeks advice for her pitch at the Cleveland game
While on her way to the stadium, Zee was quick to post a selfie on Twitter and seek advice from her followers about throwing a perfect pitch at a baseball game. Fans asked Ginger to enjoy the moment and not stress too much about it. However, a few reminded her to ensure that the ball reaches the catcher but a few of them couldn’t help but compliment her curly hair. In the end, Ginger managed to complete her pitch as was seen in a video she posted, and later enjoyed the game.
