Victor Osimhen may sue own club after Napoli post bizarre video on social media
Victor Osimhen may sue own club after Napoli post bizarre video on social media
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is reserving “the right to take legal action” against his own club after his team posted a bizarre video to TikTok seemingly mocking the player. The odd video comes after Osimhen helped the Italian team secure a first league title, the club’s first in three decades. Despite Osimhen singlehandedly bolstering Napoli with 31 goals across all competitions, he became the target of a strange, now-deleted video, shared to the Serie A club’s official TikTok account. Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda issued a statement on Tuesday night about the incident. He wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted. “A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news.” Calenda added: “We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor”. The video featured a clip of the striker’s penalty miss from their match against Bologna on Sunday, with an odd, sped-up voice dubbed over the top. While the original was deleted, recorded versions of it appeared on Twitter/X soon after - while Osimhen himself appears to have deleted every Instagram post on his account which featured a Napoli shirt. The strange social media clip comes after there appeared to be tension between Osimhen and Napoli manager Rudi Garcia during the game. The 24-year-old Nigerian striker was seen berating Garcia as he was substituted off with four minutes remaining of the goalless draw. The bizarre social media scrap comes after Osimhen, who captured the interest of Manchester United this summer, did not sign a new contract with the Italian team. Osimhen’s current deal runs through to the summer of 2025. LeBron James Knew Exactly What Play the Warriors Were Running at the End of Game 4
Much has been made and much should be made of LeBron James' encyclopedic basketball acumen and we certainly aren't going to go overboard here and suggest he's the only player who could have sniffed out the Golden State Warriors' set play to attempt a potential game-tying three-pointer at the end of Game 4, but it is still really cool to see the gears in his head grinding.

Deontay Wilder claims Oleksandr Usyk is ‘a lot afraid’ of heavyweight clash
Deontay Wilder claims Oleksandr Usyk is ‘a lot afraid’ of heavyweight clash
Deontay Wilder has accused Oleksandr Usyk of being ‘afraid’ of fighting him, while teasing a return to the ring. Wilder last fought in October, knocking out Robert Helenius in the first round, and Usyk last competed in August, when he outpointed Anthony Joshua for the second time in a year. The Ukrainian is expected to defend the unified heavyweight titles against Daniel Dubois this summer, while American Wilder is without an opponent. Discussing the prospect of a bout with Usyk, Wilder told ES News on Thursday (25 May): “I’m all for it, but he’s a little afraid – not a little afraid, but a lot afraid. “I’m in the business, so I know a lot of things. I’m ready to go at any given moment in time, they know that.” Addressing the collapse of negotiations between Usyk and Tyson Fury in March, Wilder added: “I’m simple, I don’t do all that stuff. I don’t put up too much of a fight as far as trying to get a fight done [goes]. “I feel like we all can eat. That’s how it should be, being able to help each other fight. It’s not about overpricing yourself out of a fight, because we’re all risking our lives. Damn, let us all at least get a piece of the f***ing pie. “I’ve always given people a piece of the pie, because you just never know what’s gonna happen in and out of that ring. But they don’t make them like me, man, I’m very rare.” Wilder, 37, also spoke about his own return to the ring, saying: “I’ll be back real soon, I promise, you don’t want to miss it. “[Usyk], stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.” Click here to subscribe to The Independent’s Sport YouTube channel for all the latest sports videos.
