Folarin Balogun in FIFA 23 is likely to receive a nationaly change after Fabrizio Romano reported that the striker is set to change his international allegiance to the United States.
Balogun, currently on loan at Stade de Reims from Arsenal, is enjoying an unbelievable season in France scoring 19 goals across 34 matches this season. He's been in the spotlight of international football considering he's eligible to represent either England, Nigeria or the United States. The latter has been yearning for a true striker up top following the World Cup in Qatar, and it seems they've found their answer ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
According to Romano, Balogun will switch allegiances and represent the United States moving forward. A major change for the striker who also has some questions regarding his future at Arsenal.
Folarin Balogun FIFA 23: Player to Reportedly Represent USMNT
Balogun's only received two special items in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team during the Future Stars promotion. That card, and his base common Silver, still has England and his represented country. Those items will not change, but perhaps EA Sports will update Balogun's items down the line as FIFA 23 draws to a close.
Though, for EA Sports FC, expect Balogun to have United States on his Ultimate Team cards. He'll provide valuable nationality links to other popular U.S. players like Christian Pulisic in future titles. Plus, expect him to receive a major base rating upgrade in the new title considering how well his loan spell in France has gone.
Perhaps toward the end of FIFA 23, once newly transferred cards are released, will Balogun receive an Arsenal card (or perhaps another club) with the United States flag on it. Considering how many popular U.S. players there are in this year's game, Balogun would be a fun card to use as the game cycle comes to an end.
