Florida is one win away from the College World Series finals, but needs to get past TCU in order to do so.
The Gators have looked the part in Omaha, Nebraska, beating Virginia and Oral Roberts in two thrilling games, each by one run, can the team hold off the Horned Frogs, who have been one of the biggest surprises in the college baseball tournament?
The Gators are the better team on paper, but the Horned Frogs stunned Virginia in the College World Series already, can the team continue it's shocking run?
Here are the odds for an elimination game for TCU as Florida tries to clinch a spot in the finals:
Florida vs. TCU odds, run line and total
Florida vs. TCU prediction and pick
Both teams have been playing lower-scoring affairs in Omaha, TCU has played three games with only one game totaling more than double digits and Florida has played two with one game reaching double digit runs.
The Gators have had some extra time off and should have its full arsenal out of the bullpen behind stud pitcher Jac Caglianone, who has a 3.78 ERA across 69 innings. I expect the team to hold off the Horned Frogs offense that was rolling in the Regionals and Super Regionals, but has cooled off considerably in Omaha — hitting only one home run in three games.
Meanwhile, the Horned Frogs have had some timely pitching from the bullpen, who pieced together a 6-1 win in an elimination game on Tuesday against Oral Roberts. The team will lean on Kole Klecker to keep the team's season alive. Klecker has been on point this postseason, who has pitched 16 innings across three games and has allowed four earned runs while striking out 15 batters.
Games have been lower scoring than expected in Omaha, and I trust both pitchers to show up on Wednesday.
