Cowboys rumors: CeeDee Lamb hands off with contract negotiations

The Cowboys have had a busy offseason trying to work on new deals for the key cogs in the Dallas football machine.

Trevon Diggs got his recently while wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, offensive tackle Terence Steele and linebacker Micah Parsons have also been named as players the team wants to lock in long term.

But the negotiations around a new deal aren't something Lamb specifically is worrying all that much about. That's what his agent is for.

"I told [my agent] he has full range. I just want the best of the best as far as the best for me and make sure everything is right. And when it's right, just come let me know something. Other than that, I'm just gonna keep working, keep building with my guys, and when it comes September, we're trying to start it off right," Lamb told Jon Machota of The Athletic.

That's exactly what Cowboys fans will want to hear from the star wide receiver who has made it to two Pro Bowls in three years in the league and still feels like he has more to give.

"I know that I didn't put my best out there yet," Lamb said per Michael Gehlkin of the Dallas Morning News. "Once again, keep in mind, I did not have Dak for a full season. That's all I'm going to say."

That should make rivals tremble and give the Cowboys every reason to get that new deal done on the double. Lamb set career highs with 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns last season and he's expecting even more.

Cowboys rumors: Dak Prescott gets enough attention, turns down "Quarterback"

Netflix's "Quarterback" was roundly praised by critics and fans alike for detailing the 2022 season through the eyes of Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota both on and off the field. It felt like an unprecedented look into the lives of the men playing the hardest position in football.

So naturally, everyone begged for Season 2 with instant speculation about which quarterbacks would be the most fascinating to follow in 2023.

Dak Prescott was obviously on the short list for that one. He helms one of the biggest brands in sports and is facing immense pressure to deliver this year. Who wouldn't want to see the inner workings of his life?

Well, Prescott isn't interested and its easy to see why: He's already under enough of a microscope without Netflix cameras digging even deeper.

He told reporters at Cowboys training camp that Dallas "gets enough coverage."

That's probably true. And Prescott will have enough on his plate. Declining an opportunity that would no doubt be good for his own personal brand (fans came away from "Quarterback" with new appreciation for Mahomes' dedication and Cousins' personality) means he can stay focused on the task at hand.

When Mahomes signed up for it, he already had a Super Bowl on his record. Maybe Prescott can circle back after he's gotten one of his own.

Deuce Vaughn goes viral, but NFL won't be laughing for long

Deuce Vaughn was one of the feel-good stories of the NFL Draft since it was his own father, Cowboys scout Chris Vaughn, who made the call when Dallas drafted him in the sixth round.

And already in Cowboys training camp he's going viral, though maybe not for the reason he'd hope.

Video of Vaughn taking a snap highlighted a lot of things, his shiftiness included, but also his height.

Lost in all jokes about the 5-foot-5 running back, is the fact that the Cowboys drafted an undersized, but incredibly productive running back with elusiveness to carve out a role in the NFL.

Clips from training camp are highlighting what a unique player he is with a real chance to mirror what fellow Kansas State legend Darren Sproles did in the NFL.

The NFL may be laughing about Vaughn's size right now, but wait until they try to get a hand on him in live action.
