Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay has admitted he is keen to sign Real Madrid right-back Alvaro Odriozola before the transfer window closes.
Odriozola, a product of the Sociedad academy, has not played for Madrid so far this season and saw just 92 minutes in all competitions last year after tumbling well down the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti.
Dani Carvajal is Madrid's starting right-back, with Lucas Vazquez his deputy, and Ancelotti has even preferred to use centre-back Nacho Fernandez as emergency cover for the position.
As a result, Odriozola has been made available for transfer and reports suggest he has had his heart set on a return to Sociedad all summer but, for whatever reason, the Basque side have not yet reached an agreement.
Asked about a possible move for the Madrid right-back, Aperribay made it clear Odriozola is on Sociedad's radar as the window heads into its final 36 hours.

"We are interested in Alvaro Odriozola," he confirmed. "We will see the steps we can take in the coming days.
"He is a player formed and trained in La Real, I have always known him, we are interested. We'll see if we can talk to Madrid to close his contract. We set the summer to go step by step from the beginning and this is the path we are taking."
Odriozola's contract in Madrid has entered its final year and so Ancelotti's side appear to have just two days remaining to cash in on the full-back before he leaves on a free transfer.
Ancelotti has publicly confirmed he does not expect any further additions to his squad before the deadline but the door remains open to fringe players like Odriozola if the right offer arrives.
