The Miami Heat are putting it to the Boston Celtics.
As has been the way for the No. 8 seed all postseason, the Heat have looked like the better team despite being underdogs in each of the three series the team has played in, now up 3-0 on the No. 2 seed Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. After the Celtics started this series as -550 favorites and odds on favorites to win it all, it's the Heat who are one win away from a second NBA Finals in four years.
If history is any indication, this series is ending on Tuesday in Game 4. Check a look at this stat from Matt Moore of The Action Network:
The Heat blew out the Celtics after pulling away late in both games in Boston to take a 2-0 series lead, winning 128-102 at home, taking a commanding 3-0 series lead. Miami is on the precipice of history as no team has ever come back from this deficit in NBA Playoffs history; teams with a 3-0 lead are 149-0 all time in the postseason.
The updated series price lists the Heat as -1300 favorites to advance while the Celtics are +800 to make the comeback.
Miami Heat favored in Game 4 vs. Boston Celtics
After closing as 4.5-point underdogs in Game 3, the Heat are slight favorites to complete the sweep of the Celtics. Boston continues to receive respect in the betting markets due to its overwhelming talent, but there is a disconnect between the odds and what is transpiring on the court.
