The NFL schedule has been released and now we not only know every team's opponent, but we know where they're traveling and when.
That is crucial information when buying or selling a team heading into the year. That goes for betting Super Bowl futures or even just season win total over/unders. Here are three teams to fade heading into the 2023 season because of a tough draw on schedule release day.
3 NFL teams to sell
New England Patriots
Seattle Seahawks
Miami Dolphins
New England Patriots
Any AFC team that has to face the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys got really unlucky, those are two of the only good teams in the NFC and both are on New England's schedule, including a Week 1 trip to Philly.
The division doesn't make things easy for New England either with an October trip to Miami and a New Year's Eve game in Buffalo, making up part of the team's AFC East schedule.
Can it get worse? How about the stretch run. From Week 13 to the end of the year they have the Chargers at home, at Pittsburgh, home against Kansas City, at Denver, at Buffalo, and home for Aaron Rodgers and the Jets.
The Patriots have a real offensive coordinator, so there's a chance that Mac Jones has a breakout season, but with this schedule, Bill Belichcik could be staring down a losing season and looking for a new QB. By Vegas win totals the Patriots will face the toughest schedule in the league.
Seattle Seahawks
For the second straight season the Seattle Seahawks will travel the most miles of any team in the NFL. While the Seahawks are an improving roster that just added two first-round picks, the schedule should give bettors on the over of their season win total some pause. Logging a lot of miles is the reality of being a west coast team, specifically pacific northwest, but Seattle is also matched with the AFC North in 2023. That means trips to Cincinnati and Baltimore to face Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson, respectively in addition to a late season meeting with the Steelers.
From Week 12 to Week 15 they have a stretch that begins with a Thursday night game at home against the 49ers, followed by a trip to Dallas, on the road against the 49ers again and back home to face the Eagles. Doesn't get much tougher than that.
Miami Dolphins
Any team that travels to Miami early in the year is usually set up for failure, but three of the Dolphins first four games are on the road. Their schedule includes a trip to Philadelphia in Week 7, and hosting Kansas City in Week 9. Miami also has Dallas on its schedule and they wrap up the season at home against Buffalo.
Miami has the fifth toughest schedule in the NFL if you go by regular season win totals this season and losing the advantage of playing early season games in the Miami heat really stings.
